The Art Of Expressing Yourself Using Wordpress

by Don Bethune

Since the dawn of man, human nature has driven us in our quest to communicate. Beginning with rudimentary scribbling on cave walls, technology has lead us by the hand into a new era of global communication, the weblog. Web logging, or ablogginga as most refer to it, is a wide spread phenomenon. It seems that just about everyone these days has something that needs to be said. And with the ease of hiding behind a computer screen, what better way is there to digitally unload your two cents?

It is no longer necessary for one to be well versed in HTML, the language of the computer, or even the computer itself in order to utilize this form of expression. Many sites offer services that allow you to aposta your content with the click of a button, uploaded for the world to see. One of the most well known sites offering this service is Wordpress.com.

Think of Wordpress as being a blank canvas. The canvas belongs to anyone who wants to use it. You are given the ability to customize your acanvasa, making it solely and uniquely yours, simply by logging onto their site, and signing up for their free service. Adding themes, stories, facts and opinions whatever and whenever you please.

There are also ways to add features to your page allowing other users to leave comments, or feedback. Say you write a blog on music, and you talk about your favorite song. If this artist has a website, Wordpress enables you to create a alinka to that site. This means that a reader will be able to click on this link, which will then take them to their site so that they can see exactly what it is you are talking about.

You can also add all sorts of widgets to your blog to add functionality. Whether they be comment forms to allow your readers to post their comments, or bookmark links to make it easier for your readers to bookmark your blog on a social bookmarking website- this helps spread your blog around the internet community and helps improve your marketing status.

A variety of other features are available to you as well, making your site more fun and user friendly. This will help to drive more traffic through your site if in fact that is what you want. If the objective of your page is more private in nature, say a daily journal, or just a place for you to vent, there are settings to allow only selected people to view it, or make it for your eyes only.

By far the best thing about Wordpress is its ease of use. It is super easy to put up a new post: Just go to your account, type what you want to post, and click ‘Submit.’ It’s that simple, even your grandmother could do it (as many grandmothers have, in fact) !

In conclusion, setting up and running a blog is hardly a daunting task. It is super easy to do so, once you have the proper tools and the best unique content to post. With Wordpress, your blog will be like magic.
